  1. Good post and thanks for the follow on Livritome! One of my bad habits is not making time to blog — somehow that ties into procrastination and wasting time on useless activities. Your post is inspiring me to do better.

  2. I have discovered a trick to combat procrastination. When you don’t feel like doing something, it’s usually because you get intimated by the perceived required effort. In that case, just tell yourself that instead of doing the task, you are only going to work on a tiny portion this time, and leave the remainder for the next time. It’s the strategy of divide and conquer. Works pretty well with dishwashing, for example. 🙂

      1. Actually. That’s how we combat writing procrastination. Instead of focusing on writing one 2,000 words blogposts, we focus only on writing a great paragraph and nothing else. And then, it’s just a matter of rinse and repeat.

  3. After reading this, I have found that I have a couple of bad eating habits that I need to work on!
You might not remember Alchemist, but thanks for being the first follower for my blog 🙂

  4. Dear Alchemist, thank you for this informative post and to follow my blog on Staunaprojects. What gave you the kick to write about bad habits?

  5. Wonderful list. You might wish to fix a spelling just under the first image:

“Bad habits are easy to quite today than tomorrow.”

Feel free to delete this part of the comment. =)

  6. The only thing I need to work on from this list is the bad eating habits: specifically I KNOW I eat too fast, and eat when I’m not hungry. AAAArggh! Knowing is half the battle, right??

  7. I definitely have some bad eating habits!!!!! I’m hoping to curb some of them with Whole30! And overspending, we are in the middle of Dave Ramsey! Did you tell us YOUR bad habits??

  8. Sorry, but you did not mention that more people are being killed by alcohol addiction than by smoking. This fact is often ignored in public discussions while alcohol is still regarded as a social accepted drug.

  9. I’m absolutely guilty of both overspending and not always eating the healthiest, but I am consciously working on both of these things. Thank you for the positive thoughts on breaking these bad habits!

Thank you for following along with me and my blog!

  10. What I’m going to say is counter intuitive, however, sometimes procrastination means that we instinctively know to wait for Divine Timing. Sometimes we don’t have all the tools or facts we require to move forward. Sometimes the body and mind need rest. Sometimes procrastination is a good thing, especially for people who are doers and are constantly on the move and always trying or forcing to get things done.

I have found that as an author, procrastination has been my friend. When I waited for inspiration to strike, I ended up with better text than if I had pushed myself to write before the right time.
