  2. I’m always dual with romantic writers. On one hand my education makes my skin crawl in pleasure of the drama they describe but on the other my soul knows better. Romantic love is the pure expression of an attempt to fill our own self-loathing and emptiness with someone else. It’s idealizing that other person and we fall in love with this idealization that is actually a reflection of what we think should be perfected in ourselves. True love is giving and enjoying the gift. The rare moments true love expresses itself is when we feel connected to life and to all other beings. True love doesn’t expect and doesn’t suffer. True love gives and rejoices in the gift.
