Who is a Spiritual Warrior

In our day to day life we encounter many problems and hurdles with which we have to fight. We don’t just sit in a corner and wait for someone to come and solve our problems. We try our level best to overcome the difficulties and problems life throws on us. You all are courageous Warriors, because you don’t rely on others help. It’s not true that a person specialized in combat and warfare activities can only be called a Warrior. People who fight with Weapons and bombs and kill innocent men, women and children can never be called as true Warriors. A true Warrior is one who fights for truth and good of world.

A Spiritual Warrior armed with his sword of self knowledge and self control, destroys ignorance and attains a state in which there is no suffering, and selfish desires. For a true warrior his mind is his battle field and his ignorance is his enemy. He releases himself from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. Nirvana is the final goal of a Spiritual warrior.

What is Spirituality

We can not define Spirituality precisely. Spirituality may refer to a meaningful activity, which helps in your personal growth and self-realization. Unlike religion, spirituality is associated with the interior life of the individual. Spiritual practice are your journey towards nirvana, self realization, the discovery of higher truths, and true nature of reality.

A true Spiritual warrior fights with himself because man is the worst enemy of man. Mind if controlled is our best friend if not the worst foe.

Morality, concentration and Wisdom these are the weapons of a true Spiritual Warrior which he uses to kill the Passions of lust, hatred and ignorance that resides in mind. The true Spiritual warrior combats the universal enemy, self ignorance which is the ultimate source of suffering.

The spiritual warrior’s only complete and right practice is that which compassionately helps other beings with wisdom. Hence we all should become a spiritual warrior and kill all our lust of passions, greed, immorality, self -ignorance and other negativity of the mind using the weapons of self-knowledge, self-discipline, concentration of mind, virtue and our deep common sense.

Once a spiritual warrior purifies his mind then his ultimate task is the War against the universal self ignorance, lust, greed and the negativity they produce in a persons mind. Those who prefer to battle with passions in solitude alone are perfectly free.

To a Spiritual warrior, solitude is Happiness. Those who seek delight in battle with life’s problems living in the world and thus make a happy world where men can live as ideal citizens in perfect peace and harmony, can adopt that responsibility and courage.

I believe that each and every one of you can become a Spiritual warrior. The darkness within can only be destroyed by self knowledge, not by weapons. Enlightenment should be the true goal of our life.

  1. Billions of human beings may see and interpret the world in billions of possibilities, this is why it is so difficult to say what is real. The biggest burden in this regard comprises the conditioned perception, we see what we want to see as we expect it to be like that. May be of help to regard sometimes somethings with the eyes of a bee or a bear or …?

  2. Great!! I still try to combine paragraph 2 with Freud, because theres a paradox between emptiness & motivation, love and life 😉

  3. “….compassionately helps other beings…” I claim this line as my focus in this world…but I personally don’t equate it with being a warrior. I get what you’re trying to say, and as you have pointed out, since our spirituality comes from within, the only way that war can actually occur is if we are war with ourselves. Therein lies the journey. Challenging the illusion of separation. And allowing only Love to shine through. I loved reading your thoughts.

  5. There is great value following this philosophy in life. Well written. Many people who read this will grow and develop as individuals as a result.

  6. I understand what you are saying but it can lead to a very lonely existence, how would you deal with this. Do you exclude people to the point of isolation?

  7. Since common sense is so common, I wonder how deep it really runs. I enjoyed this post and saw a ‘common sense’ approach to life, I would very much approve of, if only… There are a million and one factors governing the way people behave. Still, your advocating that we fight our inner demons and means by which to do so, has been taken with a refreshing view for some to strengthen themselves! Well done: ‘Spiritual Warrior’!

  8. “self ignorance . . . is the ultimate source of suffering”
To know oneself truly and fully is the greatest suffering of all.

  10. Wow, I only have 2 followers, you being one of them and it trips me out that the reason i started writing the way that i do, about positivity, is because my mother gave me the book “The Alchemist” and i learned a lot about myself after it. That is when i decided to finally let people read my work. I’ve been asking the universe to show me signs to push me forward to what i should focus my life on. I’ve been getting a lot of them that have been pushing me to write, and as soon as i felt as my views were decreasing and i was starting to feel as if my work wasn’t good enough to continue. I got an increase in views in a matter of a night and you started to follow me. Your author name being Alchemist, and writing about self-help (something i have been working on without really realizing it) just made me happy to feel that what i was holding back for so long was the “gift” i have been looking for my entire life. I just found it extremely ironic, and i felt the need to share my happiness with you, since you definitely helped. (:

  11. A great post, one that is pretty much in line with my own perception of being a spiritual warrior.

Funny fact: When my father gave me a book called “The way of the spiritual warrior”, that’s when my own spiritual journey began. 😉

  12. The genuine spiritual warrior has the Holy Spirit of God indwelling him through repentant faith in Jesus Christ. The genuine spiritual warrior uses God’s methods to fight his spiritual warfare. The genuine spiritual warrior uses the Word of God as his sword to combat the lies and deceit of the enemy. The genuine spiritual warrior sets the captives free from Satan by preaching the gospel of God’s salvation by the power of the Holy Spirit; that Jesus Christ died upon the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead for our justification. The genuine spiritual warrior does all for the glory of God and blessing of others. Amen!

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,…2 Corinthians 10:3-5

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod you feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints–Ephesians 6:13-18

Thank you for following holdingforthhisword. May Jesus Christ richly bless you. Amen!

  13. For truth seekers, the Bible offers astounding enlightenment. For example, on being a spiritual warrior: “Fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience” (1 Timothy 1:18b,19a). We need faith in God because He is our source of strength, and we need a good conscience trained by God’s Word that guides us to wise decisions, not foolish. I, for one, am very glad to have the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:6), on my side as I fight the darkness within and without!

P.S. Thank you, Heraclitus, for becoming a follower of my blog, From the Inside Out. I pray you’ll find the posts meaningful.

  15. I tried, on my own steam, to be a spiritual warrior, but over and over it boiled down to my self-interest. When that was stripped away, when all I knew was ripped apart and destroyed and I had nothing, then I could begin to see Truth. Now? Moment by moment I am learning about love and wholeness and I understand, to a small degree within my humanity, about being a spiritual warrior. It is with utter humility that I claim that role for myself. Thank you for following my journey, and I am thankful to have found you and yours.

  16. Wonderful post and thoughts. I believe I will reblog or refer to in a future post in reference to what some Imams are teaching their youth to become a warrior by brainwashing them to become a suicide terrorist bomber.

    Regards and goodwill blogging.

  17. It is a good article, if you are actually honest about it. Most people, are not, and only try to sell something.
    – Passion is good. It keeps us going
    – Immortality is bad. We can not die a natural death
We are reborn, and many of us existed before this world.
As part of evolution, you should try to let go of your energetic mind, the one that enable you to think. it is obsolete. Let the creator’s and your own energies go and fade away.
    – Energy / Magic is static, unless we take the evil back, pay for it, or do good. It’s almost like math. / banking.

Yes, we are warriors in this life. We are victims only when we give away our power

    New American Standard Bible
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
    – Spiritual Warriors…. yes indeed!!! –
